Your Chariot Awaits by Lorena McCourtney

About the book:

Downsized from her job.
Dumped by her boyfriend.
Depressed by her upcoming birthday.

It's been a bad week for Andi McConnell, and now, worst of all, is the Dead Body in her newly acquired limousine. Andi has never had any interest in being a sleuth, but, with her own name high on the list of suspects, she knows she'd better do something before the murder is pinned on her.

Enter Keegan "Fitz" Fitzpatrick, former TV detective, very interested in the case - and in Andi. As they work together to solve the crime, one big question becomes vitally important: are those windows in her limo really bulletproof?

My Thoughts:

If you're looking for a book with memorable characters and intrigue, this first book in the Andi McConnell Mysteries will not disappoint. I give Your Chariot Awaits a thumbs up. I think Lorena McCourtney is one of the best suspense writers out there. I was hooked from the first page because of her engaging characters, and the limo itself seems to take on a life of its own. I'm not sure when the next book will come out, but I can't wait to see what kind of adventures Andi McConnell and company will get into.

ETA: Lorena was kind enough to comment on this entry. Here's what she had to say regarding book 2 in the series...

"Book #2 in this series is finished, but the publisher hasn't told me yet when it will be released. The tentative title is HERE COMES THE RIDE, and it's about "the wedding of the century," complete with life-sized ice sculpture of the bride and groom, $24,000 wedding gown - and murder."

Sounds intriguing, does it not?
