The Secret of Us...

The Secret of Us
When Laura Dunn repeated her wedding vows twenty-three years ago, she meant them with all her heart…but back then she had no idea that young love could fade into middle-aged indifference. Somewhere along the way love didn't so much die, as it was simply smothered by the everyday-realities of life. Is it possible to fall in love again? Is a promise enough to carry her through the remaining years? Or is there a new life waiting for her on the other-side of marriage?

This newest novel by Roxanne Henke is very thought provoking - it certainly caused me to take stock of some issues in my own married life. Roxanne is a memorable author, and her first book, After Anne, is among my favorites.

Sticks & Stones

Lawyer Rachael Flynn has only been at her new job in the Ramsey County Attorney’s office for four months when she receives an unsigned letter with the startling message: They’re going to find a body at the River Terrace construction site.
He deserved what he got, but it wasn’t supposed to happen. It was an accident. Two days later the predicted body is discovered, but to everyone’s astonishment, the young man’s remains have been buried for at least twenty years. When the body is identified as that of a 15-year-old boy, the police begin to dig for clues as to who might have wished him harm. Rachael continues to receive anonymous notes…and the questions keep coming:

Was it really an accident…or was it murder?
Why has it taken so many years for this story to come to light?
And why did the young man deserve to die?

Susan Meissner has another winner with her second release in the Rachael Flynn Mystery series. Sticks & Stones offers some really unique characters and concepts to make for a gripping read from start to finish. I have read (and enjoyed) all of Susan's books thus far and highly recommend them.

Welcome book lovers...

I am a lover of Christian Fiction and thought I would try my hand at blogging about it. Please bear with me as I get the hang of it. : )
